the dr gave me pics of the surgery. they probably dont make much sense. i created a set at flickr. it is ordered from beginning to end.
So those of you who know me heard me bitch about this band after I saw them in Dec 2004. Their myspace page was recently pointed out to me and now you can hear exactly what I was bitching about. When we saw this band we couldnt figure out what the name of them was. I thought it had something to do with frogs but really wasnt sure. Anyways lemme start from the beginning.
In December I flew down to Denver to see the Gamits last show. The night before the final show we headed out to Colorado Springs to see the gamits play in a dive there. This dive is called Navajo Hogans. Scott lives in Denver and he didnt know much about it so we didnt really know what to expect venue wise. We get there and its a biker bar/restaurant. I dont think we were too weirded out by that being that we have been to dirty ass basement shows that were much scarier than anything in a biker bar. So there are a what seems like a million opening bands. We just kind of stand there and watch what happens. I drink beer. The security at this place was fat ass hillybillys. We were watching them and making fun of them most of the night. You could see the look in their eyes like they were only there to fuck people up. I strayed, anyways - This band comes out. They are all dressed a like in sweaters and ties (i think) they start playing and we really werent all that impressed. A few songs in to it I look at scott and say holy fuck, is this thrice? He laughs cause its true. These little bitches sound exactly like thrice. Apparently I wasnt the only one thinking that. The song they are playing ends and someone in the crowd yells, “THRICE RULES!” The band wasnt too happy about this. The leader singer said something along the lines of fuck you buddy. The night goes on. At some point, i think during Link, the security starts getting crazy and fucking kids up. Everytime someone moved in the crowd they gave that person the eye and then attacked panther style. The tackled some kid at one point and drug him outside. He came back in later. Im not sure what that was all about. Anyways you can see for yourself.

Oh yeah Navajo Hogans is one of the lamest placest I have been to see music. Shitty sound, shitty “hi-tech lighting effects” (seriously if you are opening a rock club dont even think about sinking the extra $$ in to a digital type lighting system that spells out things and shapes on the floors and walls, its lame. Instead invest that money in the bathrooms or something people care about) shitty “security” and just all around lame - people were still sitting and eating while the bands were playing. Would you like to pay a cover to go eat at your favorite biker bar to see some shitty ass thrice cover band?

reissues weird me out. every band reissues everything now generally a few months after it comes out. This is one reissue I can understand. This is an older record and it it will be reissued on luceros liberty and lament label. From what the last lucero dvd says is the band didnt make any money off of their previous albums because of being dicked over by the labels. sooo anyways it makes sense to reissue this. Will include the kiss the bottle cover too.
