Planes Mistaken for Stars have released some details about their forthcoming Abacus Recordings debut. The record is the follow up to 2004’s Up in Them Guts.Originally promised for 06/06/06, the album was pushed back due to their recording schedule. Now due out October 3rd, the album, titled Mercy will include 11 new tracks, including “Crooked Mile” which is now streaming from their myspace page.
Later this month the band is also headed to Europe and the UK for a month-long tour. A North American tour will be announced soon.

With stores giving less space for independent CDs these days, indie labels and young bands are under an unrealistic pressure to sell a lot of CDs very quickly. By giving away the music online for awhile we can take that pressure off and focus on getting people to hear the music and let the band develop at a normal pace.

Ice Cubes hat? What about it? What do you mean by realiest? What does eminem (im guessing that’s who you are talking about) have to do with this? Is this a stab at me because I am white? If we need to have a “who has been listening to hip hop/rap longer game” I am all for it. You are 20 so that means you were probably born in 86? Rap/Hip Hop became mainstream in the very early 90s.
