This just popped up in my blogpulse rss feed for my flickr stream. It’s cool when people blog that photo (or any of my pics for that matter - i know i get stoked)  but at the same time it weirds me out to see my face on someone elses blog.  Im not complaining or anything. I am proud of that picture. I think it is one of my better ones.

sXe kids = so awesome

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Yeah I drink, deal with it. If you dont drink then whatever I dont care. It doesnt bother me. People are people and that is that. One of the things I cant stand is the mentality of sXe (straight edge) kids. Its cool that they dont want to drink, do drugs and whatever else they believe but what I cant stand is the fact that these kids PUSH this on other people. They have a mentality of if you arent with us you are against us. Well lemme take that back. Not all of them have that mentality. Some do though and the ones that do come off very ignorant. This myspace group was just sent to me and its golden. These kids are sXe and pro-life and if you arent with them you shouldnt be looking, according to their rules. Check out the thread on abortion. I am Pro-Choice. Living in the reddest state in the union I am surrounded by prolifers on a daily basis. People with millions of stickers on their cars. People standing on the street corners holding up signs and people standing around holding up signs at planned parenthood. My problem with this is this is all the action these people will take. If they are truly prolife they will do something that is nonviolent that will back up their actions. Things like adoption, sex education, passing out condoms, whatever. These kids are wanting to go beat the woman as they enter the clinic. These people need to grow up.
Why are so many of these militant sXe hardcore kids so fucking conservative?

a new Dennys in Meridian, goth kids rejoice

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

So i stopped and grabbed a sandwich on my way home from work this afternoon. I took a different way than I normally go and noticed that the new building that is going up next to the krispy kreme is going to be a dennys. First off, do we really have that big of a goth kid population that will want to go to dennys and drink coffee all night? Now for the longest time i thought that was just one of those weird Boise things but they even made fun of this on South Park, so you know its not some weird Boise thing at all, like “special sauce”. Good Christ while we are talking about “special sauce” thats shit is nasty, ketchup and mayo?! Talk about fat kid food. For those of you that havent had the pleasure of leaving the state that love special sauce, you cant order that anywhere without people looking at you weird. Seriously. Everyone tells me this and I agree. I have seen it in action. Back to Dennys. The only solice I take in a new corporate chain restaurant opening in Meridian is the fact that it will be 24 hrs and its close to home so I can totally stop there when I am drunk and eat and be beligerant. I doubt this will happen though. Merrits is our home for ending drunken nights.

For this tour we will be playing a large mix of songs from all of our releases (yes, even Such Blinding Stars …). We have recruited the help of a kick ass, blazing horn section and an excellent cellist to help bring the Cursive Circus to life.

Its a long read but somewhat interesting. What I will be waiting to hear is how all this plays out and if it goes to any sort of court. As much as I hate myspace I think the way the bands are handling this is kind of awesome. I mean they are using myspace to get the message out about what happened. They are using myspace pictures and video to show and prove what happened.

As for my take on all of it. Im not gonna run off and say all cops are dicks and so on. Thats just childish BS. You wont be saying that when you have been wronged and you need a cop. There are laws and rules regulating this country and whether you like them or not you still have to abide by them or face the consequences. In this case however, all that i have seen shows that this cop just went on a power trip and got crazy. Totally fucked. I hope he gets what is coming to him.
